Fencing Sculptor's Diary

The Ramblings of a Reluctant Civil Servant

I'm back in body, but sadly not mind and even extraordinary amounts of cafine are stubbornly refusing to aid the situation.

I left Miami on Saturday having spent the day whizzing around the Everglades on an Airboat and peering over the side at alarming large and free roaming alligators and in the afternoon swimming and mucking about in the swimming pool with my friends kids.

I arrived at the airport at about 5:30 we took off at 730pm. I tried to sleep but only managed the odd sleepless 20 minute doze so watched Prince Caspian and The Happening after which I arrived at London Heathrow at about 7:40am from where I struggled accross London carrying a mightily heavy kit Duffle and rucksack and arrived in grey Croydon arround about 10:15. I was collected from East Croydon by my Bro and S.I.L who dropped me home, for a quick cuppa before we all headed off to see Grandma... then I went food shopping and started on the mammoth job of unpacking and washing. After an early dinner at around 7 pm I headed to bed not long after 9:00pm.

The first proper 'sleep' in goodness knows how many days.

When the alarm went off this morning I genuinely wasn't sure where I was or what day it was. And was frankly disapointed to discover that the 30 foot swimming pool in the back garden had vanished....as had the palm trees and sun !

Today has been mostly coffee focused .....and I could probably cope better if I didn't have a new fencing class starting tonight.

I don't yet know if it's possible to fall asleep mid-lunge but I suspect I'm going to find out......
