Seeing Double

Je Suis tres fatigue !

On Sunday night I stayed up sculpting until 1 30am.

Last night I didn't get off to sleep until after midnight.

Tonight I stayed up to phone my friend in the states to try and confirm dates for when I can go over.

As aresult I'm actually so tired I can't sleep if that makes any sense.

Not much in Fencingsculpter world does these days unfortunately.

Work was pretty crap - I think I even managed to dazzle my Director today - better late than never eh !

Also I have significantly progressed my search for a new job.

I came home via Bromley tonight and picked up my copy of Amazing Figure Modeller (a garage kit mag) and a one off Japanese Makeup and Effects book, one of the best how too guides I have ever seen published.

I'll post details on acouple of effects forums tomorrow and spread the love !

I had a cheery chat with mMum.

I tried to phone Sharon but left a message. She should be in Turkey this week but her holioday flights were with XL airlines which went bust last week so her holiday was cancelled. I can't remeber if I posted about that already.

I watched thew Krzysztof Kieslowski's Double Life of Veronique tonight. I bought is on DVD so now it's mine too !

It had a big impact on me when I saw it in the early 1990's.

I love the film, I fancy Irene Jacob something rotten, especially her 30 something self !

I wish we made films like that in this country - I must try and cath Mike Leigh's Happy Go Lucky and see how that compares to some of my fav European films. The double life of Veronique is just so rich on so many levels, looks beautiful, sounds beautiful in french and has a real story with emotion and confusion and realisatin ...everything blockbusters don't.

I wish it hadn't reminded me quite so much of Catherine and Christine in different measures.

Still Wednesday is the new Friday and after tomorrow I have a few days off.

I feel the need to put some distane between me and civilisation and think I'll pack a bergen and go and sit in a forest somewhere for a few days and talk to squirrels and deer for a couple of days.

Oddly enough I'll feel all the more sane for it.

Stupid stupid Jurnos

You have to wonder at the staggering stupidity of some honourable members of the press.

An article on the BBC today has come a with a metaphor that has gone boldly were no one has gone before entitled "dangerous Dog a ‘loaded shotgun'"

No no no. A dangerous dog is no more like a Loaded shotgun than say:
A bread knife on a work surface,
A white shark in the ocean,
A handgrenade with a loose retaining pin,
An activated Large Hadron Collider.

One sincerely hopes the offending Jurno tries to demonstrate just how a dangerous dog is like a shotgun by attempting to hold said animal in a similar way to the item he has chosen to compare it to.

I for one would like to be the first to read the article which reported “Dangerous Dog bites face off Journalist who treat it like a loaded shotgun”.

Berk !
